Presentation

Over the past ten years the INTB series of Conferences has pursued the mission to bring together professionals from academy and industry with the aim to create a favourable multidisciplinary context for the diffusion of biotechnology concepts, and to foster the implementation of emerging biotechnological solutions for polymer and textile processing.

Industrial biotechnology has the potential to drive the transition towards a knowledge-based society and a more sustainable bio-based economy.
More than ever it is now imperative for the industry to move towards new clean and energy efficient technologies and to rely on benign bio-based resources in order to minimize the impact of industrial processes on health and environment.

The two events, IPTB 2011 and COST 868, are designed to provide a comprehensive forum where attendees will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and information and to be updated on the latest research achievements and opportunities, industrial needs and future trends concerning one of the fastest growing industrial sectors.
